WELCOME TO "Le Roscoat"

An American In Brittany - Bed and Breakfast, was built from 1946-1948, and remained in one family until purchased as a vacation home by the Ward family in 2006. It was built after World War II, even utilizing salvaged beams from U.S. ships from WWII.  General Patton came to our town during the war. To this day, ccasional remnants of the war wash ashore; like the American jeep coming in with the tide in 2010.

The home is named after the river flowing along the property to the sea. An extensive makeover of "Le Roscoat" began in March, 2006. The renovations brought back the charm of this Breton stone home while adding color and cozy decor to welcome our family and guests. Murals by American Artist, Betsy Kozlowski, depict French and Breton life throughout. Major renovations of a new kitchen, an added upstairs bathroom, new windows, driveway, and landscaping to enhance sea views from five rooms were completed in May, 2011. New shutters will be installed March, 2012, finishing off the new windows.

"Le Roscoat" is located in St. Michel en Greve, Brittany, France, a small village located on a 5 Km beach, part of the Cote de Granite Rose, also known as the granite rose coast extending along the coast to Perros Guirec.  From hiking the GR34, swimming, tennis, horseback riding, windsurfing, sailing, shopping at local markets, walking or bicycling to the village boulangerie, tabac, or cafes, to just reading and relaxing on the 2 1/2 acre property, there are endless possibilities!

Coming to "Le Roscoat" is perfect for a romantic getaway, a cozy overnight with the family on their way to Quimper or Carnac, coming from the beaches of Normandy and the famous Mont St. Michel, or an extended, relaxed vacation. With being a little over one hour away from Paris by plane to the Brest Airport and then a one hour drive to "Le Roscoat" or four hours by TGV rail to Morlaix, France, and then a 25 minute drive, one can combine a vacation to Paris or other parts of France, with one in Brittany, winding down a bit from the hustle bustle of the city.
